History

1969 - 1973

AECI purchased the Kimfos company in Kimberley and started DCP production under the name Kimfos. The company operated under the name of Kynoch Capex.

1973

Started trading under the Kynoch Feeds Name

1975

a MDCP plant was built at Umbogintwini, south of Durban

1976

First exports to Europe

1988

Kalori plant commissioned

1996

The DCP plant in Kimberley was relocated to Umbogintwini and the business was restructured with only one manufacturing site at Umbogintwini where the current range of core products that are manufactured are: MDCP, Kalori and Phosphate mineral supplements

1998

Yara Animal Nutrition South Africa was established as a joint venture between Kynoch Feeds and Kemira Agro, a Finnish Company

2002

Kemira Agro acquires full shareholding of Kynoch Feeds and the entire South African operation assumed the Yara Animal Nutrition South Africa name and identity.

2007

Yara acquires Kemira in Europe as well as 100% shareholding in Yara Animal Nutrition South Africa
